Our goal is to create a community of highly skilled Caregivers who can aid those in need, especially in rural communities and among the unemployed. We aim to provide access to resources that promote spiritual growth and leadership development for individuals, with the objective of enabling them to serve and make a positive impact now and in the future.

Course Description

The Home Base Care program is a comprehensive, twelve-month course designed to provide training in Palliative Care in a multicultural setting. The curriculum integrates the study of human anatomy and physiology with the examination of lifestyle practices that contribute to optimal health, nutrition, and disease resistance.

As care providers, home health care assistants play a vital and noble role in supporting the disabled, elderly, and those with chronic illnesses in maintaining a high quality of life. The Home Base Care program aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their role as Caregivers. The curriculum covers key areas such as infection control, oral hygiene, the functioning of the body’s systems, hypertension, disabilities, and emergency situations. Additionally, the program emphasizes the importance of the Caregiver’s role and responsibilities in the home-based care environment.

Assumptions of Prior Learning

In order to maximize the benefits of this course, students must possess the following skills:

Effective communication in the language of instruction
Proficiency in reading and writing
Independent learning capability

Outcomes

The student will be familiar to the first level of care and will be able to define essential health care. This is the point of entry into the health care system. It aims at promoting health, preventing disease and treating minor ailments and emergencies, it includes:

Teaching Method

Lessons will include lectures, discussions and group activities. Individual assignments will also be allocated.

 

Assessment

Test – There will be a test every day about the previous lectures.

Reading Report – Students will submit a two page reading report about difference topics

Class Presentation – Every student will present their reading report to the class.

520 Practical hours to be done at specified institutions.
